INTERNATIONAL HANDICRAFTS PROJECT

In order to bring together the universal aesthetics and cultural richness of traditional handicrafts with the art of photography, an international photography competition is being organized within the scope of the Traditional Handicrafts Project. This special competition, which will be held worldwide, aims to bring together those who are devoted to both handicrafts and the art of photography.

The jury of the competition will include officials from project partner institutions, as well as master photographers and experts in the field of traditional handicrafts. Thus, a strong and multi-faceted perspective will be provided in terms of both artistic and craftsmanship during the evaluation process.

The competition is planned to start in 2026; various awards will be given, including 1st, 2nd, 3rd and exhibition. The winning works will be included in a photo catalogue to be printed and a digital exhibition will be prepared with these works. In addition, the award ceremony of the competition will be held in Ankara, the capital of Turkey, as part of the closing program of the project.

Thanks to this competition:

- Awareness of traditional handicrafts will increase and the number of individuals interested in these arts will increase.
- By promoting handicrafts specific to different geographies, an environment of cultural interaction and mutual inspiration will be created.

Photographers will have the opportunity to produce original and meaningful works and gain international recognition.

This competition, where handicraft meets aesthetics, is not only an art event; it is also a meaningful way to protect cultural heritage, show respect to masters and contribute to visual arts.
